POWER-GEN Asia returns to BangkokPROJECT | POWER-GEN Asia returns to BangkokPOWER-GEN Asia, the premier conference and exhibition for the power generation and transmission and distribution industries, will return to Bangkok, Thailand, who last hosted the event in 2007. From 7 to 9 October 2009, POWER-GEN Asia will receive over 6,000 industry professionals who will gather for three days to enjoy the industry’s leading conference and experience the latest developments and ideas for the future of the Asian power generation sector. The state-of-the-art IMPACT Exhibition and Conference centre will host POWER-GEN Asia 2009 and will provide a great setting for this prestigious event. Launch of Renewable Energy World Asia The launch of Renewable Energy World Asia will play an important role in the power generation industry and provide a unique opportunity for this rapidly developing industry sector. Renewable Energy World Asia will be co-located with POWER-GEN Asia and will introduce a dedicated track, specifically for renewable energy, that will focus on the developments, technologies, products and case studies for the renewable power generation sector. Strengthening Energy Security for Sustained Economic Growth The Government is exploring new opportunities from coal and gas to renewables and nuclear and is one of the first countries in Asia to have a policy to encourage generation of power from renewable energy. In order to sustain economic growth, energy security to support the developing markets must be strengthened. Ministry of Energy confirm support Southeast Asia is one of the fastest developing regions in the world and its appetite for energy is growing at an astonishing rate. Recent estimates are that over $50-billion investment is required in the region, in order to meet the growing demand for power. The POWER-GEN Asia conference is a key forum for senior executives and industry leaders to discuss a range of topics, from the region’s energy markets, resources and environmental challenges to power plant generation technologies and operating and servicing plants, in order to meet the challenge of the growing demand for electricity.
