Philippe Favre has joined Alstom after his appointment as Senior Vice President of International Network, the group that represents Alstom globally. Heading Favre is Philippe Joubert, President of the Power Systems Sector and Executive Vice President of Alstom. Philippe Favre is replacing Bruno Cotté who has left the company.
International Network's new Senior Vice President is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and of Ecole Nationale d’Administration. He was Economic Counselor in Washington D.C., Hong Kong and Taipei for the French government from 1987 to 2001. Favre subsequently became Chief of Staff of the French Trade Minister and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Finance Minister from 2002 to 2006. In 2006 he was appointed French Ambassador for International Investment and served as Chairman and CEO of Invest in France Agency (IFA).
Alstom is a global leader in power production services and rail infrastructure. The company's power sector works with all energy forms (coal, gas, nuclear, fuel-oil, hydropower and wind) and is also involved in environmental protection, particularly in reducing CO2 and nitrogen oxide emissions. The group supplies, integrates and maintains all components essential in delivering clean power solutions and has extensive experience in retrofitting, upgrading, refurbishing and modernising existing power plant equipment.
