ABB has secured a multi-million dollar deal with Hyundai Engineering Co. to supply distributed control system to the 114MW power plant set to rise in Thailand. Under the contract, ABB will supply System 800xA control system for full automation of the power plant that will be located in Map Ta Put in Rayong province. The control system will integrate with the Power Generation Information Manager and will enable remote access by serving as the information system's historian and web server.

Hyundai is the main contractor commissioned by plant owner PTT Chemical Public Company Limited for the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, commissioning and testing of the new power plant. Under the contract between ABB and Hyundai, ABB will be responsible for project management, system engineering, tests and site supervision services for installation and commissioning start-up. The project’s target completion is the third quarter of 2009.
