POWER UTILITY | Emerson protects SMBs from power disruption

Emerson unveiled its new Liebert PSA uninterruptible power supply for small-office computers and electronic equipment.

The Liebert PSA is designed to keep the power on for up to 15 minutes at typical load in the event of a power disruption. It also uses line-interactive technology that provides automatic voltage regulation to protect sensitive equipment from power fluctuations. Moreover, it features an intuitive user interface that requires simple management and a USB cable to allow remote alerts.

"A small or medium-sized business owner can't have an eye on the UPS at all times, so it's vital to have reliable management and alert capabilities built in the system," said Andy Liu, channel product development manager for Emerson Network Power in Asia.

According to Liu, companies nowadays cannot afford to let anything disrupt their business, even for a short period of time. "Although increasingly reliant on IT, too many small businesses remain vulnerable to power fluctuations that can potentially damage electronic equipment, as we discovered that about half of SMBs do not have power protection systems in place."
